Well earned gongs for North West’s best

I was entertained by former colleague John Quinton-Barber’s tweets from the CIPR’s North West PRide awards last night, with IPB looking like they were having another good night.

That one was pleasing. It signalled a well deserved award for my good mate Becki Dixon, who put in the hard yards for City West Housing Trust after a gas explosion wrecked tenants’ homes and hit the headlines last year. The results are a fine example of how good comms can be invaluable in a crisis.

I was also delighted to hear today (sorry John, I’d gone to bed by the end) that my former boss Tony Ingham was awarded the CIPR’s PR Professional of the Year. That’s amazing news which caps one hell of a decade for Tony, who set up his award-winning company in 2002.

I know I’ll be one of many people to have wished him well after last night.
